Winnipeg Jets defenceman Dustin Byfuglien was scheduled for a hearing Tuesday after an illegal check to the head of Montreal Canadiens forward Brendan Gallagher., the NHL announced Monday.

The incident happened Sunday night at the Bell Centre when Gallagher was skating after a puck at the blue line. Byfuglien knocked the puck away and proceeded to throw his elbow into Gallagher's head.  

The 6-foot-five, 250 pound Byfuglien received a two-minute minor for elbowing. Gallagher was fine after the hit.
