Callahan out after emergency appendectomy
Tampa Bay Lightning forward Ryan Callahan had emergency appendectomy surgery on Monday night and the team says his return is undetermined at this point. The news comes as the Lightning and Canadiens get set for Game 6 of their second-round series on Tuesday night in Tampa.

Tampa Bay Lightning forward Ryan Callahan had emergency appendectomy surgery on Monday night and the team says his return is undetermined at this point.
The 30-year-old from Rochester, New York has three assists in 12 playoff games for the Lightning so far this spring.
According to Tampa Tribune reporter Erik Erlendsson, Callahan reported pain and discomfort late on Monday afternoon and was sent to Tampa General Hospital. He was tested and found to have acute appendicitis and was immediately admitted for an appendectomy. He went in to surgery at around 9pm et and got out shortly after 10pm.
The Lightning lead the Montreal Canadiens 3-2 in the second round with Game 6 set for Tuesday night in Tampa.
