| Quarterback Kerry Joseph should rejuvenate an offence that has been an achilles heel to a good team that could be great. |
Michael 'Pinball' Clemons is still with the organization but his motivational skills on the sidelines will be missed. |
Matt Dunigan's QB Analysis:
Hello MOP Kerry Joseph, I'd like you to meet Michael Bishop. I hope and trust both of you are hungry because we are serving up a huge portion of competition as you both will be embedded in the biggest QB battle in the land (next to what's happening in the Lions Den). I hope you like controversy because we have prepared a healthy serving of this delicious side dish for you both to enjoy. This battle should be fun to watch and will benefit the Argos immediately. Looking beyond those two big time heavyweights you have Cody Pickett, Reggie McNeal sluggin' it out to handle clip board duty.
Duane Forde's Rookie To Watch:
The Argos need rookie linebacker Eric Maranda (Laval) to emerge as a key part of their succession plan, as non-import LBs Mike O'Shea and Kevin Eiben face the possibilities of retirement and free agency respectively, in the near future. Maranda achieved All-Canadian status and earned an invitation to the East West Shrine Game last season to support the Argos' belief that this '07 draft pick will be up to the challenge.
Chris Schultz's Overview:
Don't think that the 2007 football season was anything short of complete disappointment for the Toronto Argonauts. You finish 11-7, but lose the East final because not only did your opponent play better than you, but you also beat yourself. Saskatchewan and Winnipeg ending up in the final was good for the league, the energy throughout the week was spectacular. But from an Argonaut perspective it was a mixed marketing opportunity not playing at home in Grey Cup 07. That may never come around again. More...
| Area of Strength | Needs Improvement |
| In recent years, the Argonauts have lived and died by the defence and with Rich Stubler at the helm, that should not change. |
The offence has struggled in every category but Joseph's arm and legs should make a difference. Will it be enough? |
| Playoff-Bound? | Or Homeward Bound |
| Adding Kerry Joseph to a team that has a stifling defence should lead to more wins by the end of the year. They won without a star quarterback, they should win more with one. |
After a disappointing playoff loss, the Argos have attempted to rebuild their offence and suffered some losses on defence. They may have subtracted more than they've added. |
