Peter Warrick's tenure with the Montreal Alouettes is over, as the club decided to release him on Tuesday.

Warrick, a former first-round pick of the NFL's Cincinnati Bengals, signed with the CFL team last week.

The five-foot-11, 195-pound Warrick was selected fourth overall by Cincinnati in the 2000 NFL draft. He played five seasons with the Bengals before joining the Seattle Seahawks in 2005 and helping the team reach the Super Bowl before losing to Pittsburgh.

Warrick was released by Seattle in 2006.

Warrick signed with the Las Vegas Gladiators of the Arena Football League in 2007 but never played for the team. He played his college football at Florida State and helped the Seminoles capture the '99 NCAA title.
