WHL: Hitmen take care of the Ice

CALGARY - Co-captains Kyle Bortis and Carson McMillan each scored twice to lead the Calgary Hitmen to a 6-2 win over the Kootenay Ice in Western Hockey League action Monday night.

Brandon Kozun had a goal and an assist for the Hitmen (15-4-1-0), who won for the second straight night at the Pengrowth Saddledome after losing two straight on the road. Matt Mackenzie added a short-handed goal, while Ian Schultz and Brett Sonne chipped in with a pair of assists each.

Tylan Stephens had a goal and an assist and Kevin King also scored for the Ice (10-8-2-3), who lost their second straight game.

Calgary goalie Martin Jones made 27 saves to record the win. Nathan Lieuwen started in net for the Ice and stopped 11 of 15 saves before giving way to Thomas Heemskerk, who made 14 saves in a relief appearance.
