Comrie solid as Moose get past Wild

DES MOINES, Iowa — Quinton Howden scored the winner in the second period and Eric Comrie made 28 saves as the Manitoba Moose opened their season with a 3-1 victory over the Iowa Wild on Friday night in American Hockey League action.
Nelson Nogier and Jack Roslovic, on the power play, had the others for Manitoba (1-0-0), the affiliate of the Winnipeg Jets.
Gustav Olofsson provided the offence for the Wild (0-1-0), the farm club of the Minnesota Wild. Alex Stalock turned away 20-of-23 shots.
The Moose were 1 for 4 on the power play while Iowa was scoreless on its two chances.
