Coyotes acquire rights to Goligoski from Stars
The Arizona Coyotes have acquired the negotiating rights for defenceman Alex Goligoski from the Dallas Stars in exchange for a 2016 fifth round draft pick. Goligoski will be a free-agent on July 1 if not signed to a contract.

The Arizona Coyotes have acquired the negotiating rights for defenceman Alex Goligoski from the Dallas Stars in exchange for a 2016 fifth round draft pick. Goligoski will be a free-agent on July 1 if not signed to a contract.
The 30-year-old tallied five goals and 32 assists over 82 games in 2015-16 with the Stars, his sixth season with the organization. He also added four goals and seven points in 13 playoff games as the Stars made it to the second round where they lost to the St. Louis Blues in seven games.
Goligoski, selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the second round of the 2004 Draft, is coming off a four-year, $18.4 million deal he signed with Dallas during the 2011-12 season.
The Grand Rapids native has 55 goals and 222 assists over 562 career games with the Penguins and Stars. He also has 21 points in 34 regular season games and was a member of the Pens 2009 Stanley Cup winning team.
