New Jersey Devils
Taylor Hall returns to the Devils lineup tonight as they visit the Blackhawks in Chicago.
Hall underwent arthroscopic surgery Nov. 16 to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. In the eight games he missed, the Devils were 2-4-2. It was originally thought Hall would miss 3 to 4 weeks, but he resumed skating on his own nine days after surgery. Hall took part in line rushes at morning skate and was on a line with Adam Henrique and P.A. Parenteau.
Cory Schneider starts in goal.
St. Louis Blues
The St. Louis Blues will get Alexander Steen back in the lineup tonight. He's been out since Nov. 14 with an upper body injury. He took the morning skate on a line with Robby Fabbri and Vladimir Tarasenko.
Chicago Blackhawks
Jonathan Toews will once again not play for the Blackhawks again tonight. He will miss his fourth straight game.
Boston Bruins
The Boston Bruins will not have Zdeno Chara in the lineup tonight when they host the Carolina Hurricanes.
Chara is suffered from a lower body injury and will sit for a fifth straight game.
Ottawa Senators
Ottawa Senators goaltender Craig Anderson has taken a leave of absence from the team as his wife battles a rare form of throat cancer.
The Senators announced the news on Twitter yesterday and said Anderson will not be available for Ottawa's game against visiting Philadelphia tonight.
Nicholle Anderson has been diagnosed with nasopharyngeal carcinoma, a cancer that starts in the upper part of the throat behind the nose and near the base of skull.
She is undergoing treatment at the Memorial Sloane Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
Mike Condon and Andrew Hammond will take on the goaltending duties in Anderson's absence. Anderson is 12-5-1 with a 2.20 goals-against average this season.
Viewers in the Senators region can watch Canadian Tire Senators Hockey on TSN5 at 7:30 PM.
