TORONTO - Forwards Brendan Leipsic and Jeremy Morin were recalled by the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday from the American Hockey League's Toronto Marlies on an emergency basis.
Maple Leafs defenceman Jared Cowen and forward Josh Leivo have been placed on injured reserve.
The 21-year-old Leipsic has 14 goals and 20 assists in 47 games with the Marlies this season. Leipsic was acquired by the Maple Leafs in a trade with Nashville on Feb. 15, 2015 after the Predators selected him in the third round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. He has yet to make his NHL debut.
Morin, 24, has two goals and four assists in 11 games with the Marlies after a Jan. 3 trade brought him to Toronto from Chicago, where he had nine goals and 13 assists in 28 games with the Rockford IceHogs, the Blackhawks' AHL affiliate.
Morin has previously skated in 82 NHL games, earning 10 goals and 22 assists with the Blackhawks and Columbus Blue Jackets.
