Hockey Canada will name Steve Yzerman its Executive Director for the 2010 Winter Olympics on Saturday in Ottawa.
Watch the introduction streamed live on TSN.ca, beginning at 1:30pm et/10:30am pt.
Yzerman and Hockey Canada will also name the NHL general managers who will form the group that will assist in selecting the players and the coaching staff for Team Canada.
The group includes Detroit Red Wings' general manager Ken Holland as well as Edmonton Oilers' general manager Kevin Lowe while St. Louis Blues assistant general manager Doug Armstrong has been added as a scout/advisor.
Yzerman, who works in the Detroit Red Wings' front office, was been tabbed as the front runner for the position after Wayne Gretzky indicated to Hockey Canada last month that he was not interested in reprising his role as executive director. Gretzky will join the team as an advisor to Yzerman.
Yzerman was general manager of Team Canada for the 2007 and 2008 World Championships and put together silver and gold medal-winning squads over the last two springs.
Gretzky added last month he would only be interested in an advisory role, although it is still possible to emerge as one of any number of candidates to be head coach of the team.
Hockey Canada isn't expected to announce the coaching staff for Team Canada's until the end of the NHL season.
