St. Louis, MO (Sports Network) - St. Louis Blues goaltender Manny Legace has been placed on injured reserve with a mild concussion.
Legace was hurt in the first period of Wednesday's game against Anaheim moments after allowing a goal. After George Parros scored for the Ducks, Anaheim's Ryan Carter skated through the crease and inadvertently clipped the left side of Legace's head with his right knee.
The veteran netminder was helped off the ice and replaced by Chris Mason. The Blues went on to drop a 4-2 decision.
Legace has a record of 8-5-1 with a 3.19 goals-against average in 16 games this season.
The Blues have recalled Ben Bishop from their AHL affiliate in Peoria. Bishop has appeared in three games for St. Louis this season, posting a mark of 1-0-1 with a 2.41 GAA. The 22-year-old netminder has a record of 8-7-0 with a 3.00 GAA in 15 games for the Rivermen.
