Marian Gaborik's injury plagued campaign may be coming to an end.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press is reporting that the Wild sniper has a hip deficiency that is causing his groin problems and have him contemplating season ending surgery.
The 26-year old Gaborik, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, has played only six games this season scoring three goals and adding two assists.
Wild assistant general manager Tom Lynn told the Pioneer Press that a decision on surgery will likely be made within the next three days.
"It's something you can manage, or you can have surgery," Lynn told the Pioneer Press.
Gaborik met with the same specialist over the Christmas break who performed his hip surgery this past June. While the previous surgery repaired the right side, Gaborik must now decide whether to fix the left side with surgery or play the remainder of the season in pain.
"Ultimately it's probably Marian's decision," Lynn told the Pioneer Press. "It can get worse and affect his play, but even though he's not at his best, he's still valuable to the team."
