Uniondale, NY (Sports Network) - New York Islanders forward Trent Hunter will miss the remainder of the regular season after breaking his left ankle.

Hunter suffered the injury in the first period of Saturday's 7-3 win over the New Jersey Devils, when he missed a check and twisted his leg while falling down.

The 28-year-old tallied 14 times with 31 points in 54 games this season. He is currently tied with Sean Bergenheim -- who posted a hat trick in the contest -- for the team lead in goals.
