The Toronto Maple Leafs took care of business with forward Mikhail Grabovski on Thursday, signing the restricted free agent to a three-year contract averaging $2.9 million a season.

Grabovski, 25, is coming off his first full NHL season, scoring 20 goals and 48 points in 78 games. He was acquired in a trade from the Montreal Canadiens last summer in exchange for the rights to defenceman Greg Pateryn and a second-round draft pick in the 2010 draft.

A native of Potsdam, Germany, Grabovski was Montreal's fourth choice, 150th overall, in the 2004 draft.

In 105 career NHL games, he has 23 goals and 57 points.
