Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - The Atlanta Thrashers re-signed restricted free agent goaltender Kari Lehtonen on Wednesday. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Lehtonen, 25, posted a 19-22-3 record with three shutouts, a 3.06 goals-against average and .911 save percentage in 46 games with Atlanta last season.
The Helsinki, Finland native was selected by the Thrashers in the first round, second overall, of the 2002 Draft and is the franchise's all-time leader in games played, wins, shutouts and save percentage.
Lehtonen is 94-83-17 with 14 shutouts, a 2.87 GAA and .912 save percentage in 204 career games. He set single-season and career-highs in games (68), wins (34) and shutouts with four during the 2006-07 season.
