Frisco, TX (Sports Network) - The Dallas Stars on Thursday signed defenseman Stephane Robidas to a four-year contract extension.

The new deal keeps the native of Sherbrooke, Quebec, with the Stars through the 2013-14 season and is worth $13.2 million.

"We are very happy to sign Stephane to this contract extension," said general manager Joe Nieuwendyk. "He has been a rock for this team on the blue-line and is a key member of our leadership group. Stephane is a consummate professional who gives us everything he has each night."

The 32-year-old rearguard recorded a career-high 23 assists and matched a personal best with 26 points last season.

In 561 career games with Montreal, Chicago and Dallas, Robidas has scored 30 goals and collected 105 assists.
