Next to move?
TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun, joined by ESPN's Scott Burnside, Craig Custance and Joe McDonald, writes in Friday's Morning 3-on-3 on ESPN.com that with the trade of Andrew Ladd, the domino effect should be in play, leading to more activity in the trade market.
LeBrun says that this news should be particularly good for the Arizona Coyotes who are trying to move pending UFA forward Mikkel Boedker and now could see him become a target of teams that were trying to acquire Ladd.
He points out that Boston Bruins forward Loui Eriksson has the most talent of possible trade targets but that the team is still trying to sign him prior to the deadline.
Other notes include the Kings speaking to the Oilers about Teddy Purcell and P.A. Parenteau, Lee Stempniak and Jamie McGinn all being options among the pending UFAs.

In the same piece, ESPN’s Scott Burnside asks if Carolina Hurricanes forward Eric Staal could end up with the New York Rangers with head coach Alain Vigneault talking about being in favour of making additions up front.
Edmonton in play?
TSN's Ryan Rishaug reports that the Pittsburgh Penguins are considering Oilers defenceman Justin Schultz as an option. Teddy Purcell remains an option for the Los Angeles Kings.
Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports that the Oilers have been listening to offers for several players including winger Nail Yakupov.
Garrioch says that the Nashville Predators have shown interest in the 22-year-old, but the asking price is high and could be difficult to meet.
Speculating that the Yakupov deal could also happen in the offseason, he says that the Oilers are more focused on moving Justin Schultz, Lauri Korpikoski and Teddy Purcell before the deadline.
