TSN delivers live coverage of Women's Hockey World Championship
Running March 31 to April 7, TSN features comprehensive live coverage of the IIHF WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, including all of Team Canada’s round robin games and every medal round game.

TORONTO (March 30, 2017) – With the gold medal on the line, the world’s best women’s hockey nations collide in Plymouth, Mich. for the 2017 IIHF WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP – one of 60+ iconic championships live on TSN. Running March 31 to April 7, TSN features comprehensive live coverage of the tournament, including all of Team Canada’s round robin games and every medal round game. Led by Marie-Philip Poulin and Natalie Spooner, Team Canada opens the tournament with a showdown against longtime rivals Team USA tomorrow, Friday, March 31, at 7:30 p.m. ET on TSN1, TSN3, and TSN5. Calling all of Team Canada’s games is play-by-play commentator Rod Black alongside analyst and five-time IIHF WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP gold medallist Cheryl Pounder. Hosting TSN’s coverage is two-time IIHF WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP medallist and Olympic gold medallist Tessa Bonhomme alongside fellow decorated national team veteran Carla MacLeod.
TSN Radio stations across Canada deliver live coverage of select games from the 2017 IIHF WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, with TSN 1040’s Blake Price delivering the call and MacLeod providing game analysis. Canada’s National Women’s Team roster was selected by head coach Laura Schuler alongside Melody Davidson, Hockey Canada’s general manager of national women’s team programs, and included support from Hockey Canada regional scouts, assistant coaches Dwayne Gylywoychuk and Troy Ryan, and goaltending coach Brad Kirkwood.

• 16 players who won a silver medal with Canada’s National Women’s Team at the 2016 IIHF WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP (Agosta, Bailey Bram, Clark, Sarah Davis, Fortino, Jenner, Johnston, Krzyzaniak, Larocque, Maschmeyer, Mikkelson, Poulin, Rougeau, Spooner, Turnbull, Wakefield)

The 2017 IIHF WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP is the 18th since the tournament’s inception in 1990. Canada’s National Women’s Team has appeared in every world championship Gold Medal Game, winning 10 gold medals (1990, 1992, 1994, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2004, 2007, and 2012) and seven silver (2005, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2016).
