The Toronto Argonauts made a series of moves today that saw two former starters on the outside looking in and another added to the practice squad.

Internation defensive backs Travis Hawkins and national defensive back Shane Herbert were both released, while former Grey Cup Most Outstanding Player, running back Chad Kackert, was added to the practice squad.

Hawkins and Herbert both started in the Argos secondary at different points last season. Kackert, who has battled multiple injuries over the last few years, appeared in seven games last season. He carried the ball 39 times for 235 yards.

Hawkins appeared in 15 games, collect 37 defensive tackles, two interceptions, and one touchdown.

Herbert played 10 games, totalling one defensive tackle and four special teams tackles.
