Arsenal will be without the services of Alexandre Lacazette for up to six weeks after the France forward underwent knee surgery on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old native of Lyon picked up the injury during Saturday's 1-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur. The team categorized the surgery as "minor" in a statement.

Lacazette's injury leaves Arsene Wenger's side bereft of striking options when it comes to Thursday's Europa League contest with Swedish side Ostersunds FK. With Olivier Giroud sold to Chelsea and new signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang cup-tied, Danny Welbeck is the club's only recognized senior striker for the match.

In 27 appearances throughout all competitions this season, Lacazette - signed from Lyon in the summer - has nine goals with all of them coming in the Premier League.
