In a traditional diving event, competitors are judged on the amount of rotations they complete, how smoothly they do them and for how cleanly they enter the water when they land. But why not twist those rules and create a diving event that any average joe could compete in?

Instead of looking for a low splash factor, why not reward the biggest splash? While we're at it, we feel that the sports idiom "no pain, no gain" should apply to diving as well, so why not judge the sound that a contestants belly or back makes when it slaps the water? If you've never seen what a perfect belly flop looks like, this video taken by a patriotic American on Independence day is a pretty good example.
