NEW YORK — Tampa Bay right-wing Nikita Kucherov, Chicago goaltender Corey Crawford and New York Rangers centre Kevin Hayes have been named the NHL's three stars of the week.
Kucherov took first-star honours with three goals and four assists in three games to guide the Lightning to five out of a possible six standings points and second place in the Atlantic Division.
His week was highlighted by a four-point performance, matching a career high, in a 6-1 victory over the New York Islanders on Tuesday. He had two goals and two assists in the contest, including the game-winning goal.
Crawford went 3-0-0 with a 1.00 goals-against average, .971 save percentage and one shutout as the Blackhawks picked up four wins in four games to move into first place in the Central Division.
Hayes scored in all four of his appearances and added two assists to help propel the Rangers into second place in the NHL's overall standings with a perfect 4-0-0 week.
