One year ago, Eugenie Bouchard took the Australian Open by storm, advancing to the semifinals and inspiring an army of fans.

Her return engagement begins tonight as TSN presents Day 1 coverage of the 2015 event from Melbourne.

Watch Eugenie Bouchard's opening round match at the Australian Open live tonight on TSN5 at 3am et/Midnight pt.

The match will repeat Monday at 1pm et/10am pt.

Bouchard will face Anna-Lena Friedsam of Germany to open the tournament. Friedsam is ranked 98th in the world and beat Bouchard the last time they met in Slovenia in 2012.

The native of Westmount, Quebec entered the 2014 Aussie Open seeded 30th and rolled through her first three matches without dropping a set. The first bump in the road came against Australia's own Casey Dellacqua, who took the opening set from Bouchard in the fourth round. However, "Genie" dropped just two points the rest of the match, earning a date with Ana Ivanovic in the quarters.

Despite dropping the first set and needing a 7-5 line to force a third set, Bouchard upset the 14th-ranked Serb, booking a semifinal date with China's Li Na. The fourth-seeded Li ended Bouchard's breakthrough in the semis, however, with a straight-sets victory.

Bouchard enjoyed one of the greatest seasons Canadian tennis has ever seen in 2014, advancing to at least the fourth round in all four majors, including semifinal appearances in the Australian and French Opens and a berth in the Wimbledon Final. Her clutch performances earned her a rapid ascent in the WTA Rankings, jumping from 32nd at the beginning of the year to No. 7 at season's end. Her peak came in October when she reached fifth in the world.

TSN's Australian Open coverage begins Sunday at 7pm et/4pm pt with court-to-court coverage.
