Flames select Parekh with ninth overall pick in 2024 NHL Draft

The Calgary Flames have selected defenceman Zayne Parekh with the ninth overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.
“Zayne Parekh, offensive wizard,” said TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button. "Great vision and capable of making the play or finishing the play. Makes it look easy."
The six-foot blueliner won a Memorial Cup with the Saginaw Spirit, scoring 33 goals and 96 points in 66 games this season.
"Leading up to the pick, I had a feeling that I might end up in Calgary," said Parekh. "Those 30 seconds leading up to it, I just smiled. It feels great.
"I took steps in the right direction every day. I really matured in terms of my game away from the puck, and with the puck, I became more creative."
