Toronto Argonauts quarterback Chad Kelly and Winnipeg Blue Bombers running back Brady Oliveira were named finalists for the CFL's Most Outstanding Player award Wednesday.

The two were selected from among the nine players named as team candidates in voting conducted by the Football Reporters of Canada and nine CFL head coaches.

Zach Collaros, who was named MOP in each of the past two seasons, was beat out for the Blue Bombers nomination by Oliveira.

Kelly earned his first Most Outstanding Player nomination after leading the Argonauts to a CFL-best 16-2 record this season. The 29-year-old threw for 4,123 yards with 23 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He added 248 yards rushing with another eight touchdowns.

Oliveira rushed for 1,534 yards and nine touchdowns with the Bombers this season, leading the league in both categories.

The CFL will honour its top individual performers Nov. 16 at Fallsview Casino & Resort in Niagara Falls, Ont.
