Pittsburgh Penguins star Sidney Crosby will not take part in Friday's Skills Competition at NHL All-Star Weekend due to an illness, the NHL announced.

Crosby still plans on playing in the All-Star Game Saturday.

In 45 games for the Penguins this season, Crosby has 21 goals and 36 assists.
