Roughnecks top Bandits in Game 1 of NLL Cup final

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Dane Dobbie had a hat trick and set up three other goals as the Calgary Roughnecks held off the Buffalo Bandits 10-7 on Saturday in Game 1 of the National Lacrosse League's final.
Game 2 of the best-of-three series for the NLL Cup will be in Calgary on May 25.
Rhys Duch had two goals and two assists for Calgary and Jesse King put away the winner and added three assists. Dan MacRae, Curtis Dickson, Dan Taylor and Mitch Wilde rounded out the attack for the Roughnecks, who have not won an NLL championship since 2009.
Christian Del Bianco made 48 saves for the win in net.
Shawn Evans led Buffalo with a goal and four assists, while Josh Byrne and Corey Small had two goals apiece. Dhane Smith and Chase Fraser also scored.
Matt Vinc stopped 34-of-45 shots in net for the Bandits.
Calgary could not score on its two power plays and Buffalo was 1 for 2 with the man advantage.
