ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Anaheim Ducks have recalled top prospect Nick Ritchie and centre Michael Sgarbossa from the AHL.
The Ducks also assigned left wing Max Friberg and defenceman Korbinian Holzer to their affiliate in San Diego on Saturday, and placed centre Chris Wagner on waivers.
Ritchie was the 10th overall pick in the 2014 draft. The 19-year-old power forward has nine goals in 12 games in San Diego to begin his first pro season.
Ritchie could make his NHL debut Monday at Carolina. The Ducks (5-8-4) desperately need more offence after scoring a league-low 29 goals in 17 games.
Sgarbossa has been Ritchie's centre in San Diego.
Wagner is scoreless with 17 penalty minutes in 11 games for Anaheim. Friberg is scoreless in five games, and Holzer has one assist in seven games.
