LEICESTER, England — English Premier League champion Leicester has made its biggest signing of the off-season, bringing in Nigeria striker Ahmed Musa for a reported club-record fee of 16 million pounds ($20.7 million).
Leicester announced Friday the club has reached an agreement with CSKA Moscow for the transfer of 23-year-old Musa, who has signed a four-year deal. The transfer is subject to approval from the Premier League and the Football Association.
Musa said "I joined because it's one of the best clubs in the Premier League and they are like a family."
The pacey Musa, who can play out wide or as a central striker, has a similar profile to Leicester's No. 1 striker Jamie Vardy. Musa scored 13 goals in 20 games for CSKA last season.
