The Edmonton Eskimos announced Wednesday they have released veteran defensive back Marcell Young.

Young spent the past five seasons with the Eskimos, and finished with 16 tackles in seven games played for the team last year.

The 30-year-old started his CFL career in 2011 with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, and has played in 97 career regular season games, accumulating 262 tackles and six interceptions.
