With MLG Columbus barely in the rearview mirror, Valve has announced ESL One Cologne as the next Counter-Strike: Global Offensive $1 million major.

The five-day event will be held at the Lanxess Arena and begins on July 5.

The top eight finishers from the Columbus Major will be awarded direct invitations under “legend” status with the other eight entrants being decided through qualifiers.

"Last year's ESL One Cologne was one for the history books,” vice president of pro gaming at ESL Ulrich Schulze said. "There are always things we can improve on, and we're looking to take key learnings from last year to raise the bar even further in 2016 for what will hopefully be a truly legendary experience, both online and off."
