FaZe Clan exacted revenge on Astralis and pulled out a 2-1 series win to capture the StarSeries Season 3 championship.

FaZe, who fell to their Danish counterparts in the grand finals of the Intel Extreme Masters Katowice in March, powered their way through the six-day event with the help of newly-acquired Nikola "NiKo" Kovac and found themselves in familiar territory in the finals in Kiev, Ukraine.

The Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team traded streaks to open the first map on Mirage and FaZe started the trend with an early 4-1 advantage. Astralis recovered to take the lead at 7-5 before FaZe responded with six straight rounds to put the game at 13-7. Astralis would not be outdone and stormed back with nine of the next 10 rounds to clinch a 16-14 win.

Trailing 1-0 and with the series on the line, FaZe looked like a new squad on Nuke. Down 4-3 early, FaZe exploded for eight straight rounds to take an 11-4 halftime lead. They would drop just two of the next six rounds to tie the series with a 16-6 win.

In the third and final map on Inferno, Astralis cruised to a 10-5 halftime lead before FaZe eventually woke up. At championship point, FaZe would put it all on the line for a shot at the title. Led by NiKo, FaZe won two straight rounds to send the series to overtime and would win four of the next six rounds to clinch a 19-17 victory and the StarSeries Season 3 title.

FaZe earned $125,000 for their victory while Astralis secured $50,000 for the second-place finish.
