I’m looking for a specific event or sport. Where can I find a schedule for that?
- From the ‘SPORTS’ drop down menu, select the sport or league you are looking for. The specific event broadcast schedule is typically posted at the bottom of each sport’s respective page.
The schedule online is different than the one on my TV guide. Which one is correct?
- Our online schedule tends to be the most up-to-date, and is the best reference for what is airing on TSN, as it is updated automatically. You can also always check our official X account for the latest Program Alerts in case of delays or last-minute program changes.
The program that I want to watch is not on. What do I do?
- Check our official X account to see if the feed has changed or the program is delayed, or reference our online schedule. Also, double-check to ensure you are watching the correct feed.
What NHL hockey airs on TSN?
- TSN owns regional broadcast rights to a package of Winnipeg Jets, Toronto Maple Leafs, Ottawa Senators, and Montreal Canadiens regular season games.
These games are aired within each team’s designated broadcast region, as defined by the NHL. If you are receiving a blackout message during a Jets/Leafs/Sens/Habs game on TSN, then you live outside the teams’ respective territory, as defined by the NHL.
How do I watch a Jets/Leafs/Sens/Habs game?
- Regional Winnipeg Jets games are available on TSN3. Fans must live in the Jets’ designated broadcast region as defined by the NHL, which includes Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Nunavut, the Northwest Territories, and parts of Northwestern Ontario, including Kenora, Dryden, and Thunder Bay.

- Montreal Canadiens games are available on TSN2. Fans must live in the Habs’ designated broadcast region as defined by the NHL, which includes Québec and Atlantic Canada.
How do I obtain a copy of a program or event that I saw on TSN?
- Due to broadcast rights restrictions, TSN and its networks and affiliates cannot make or sell DVD or digital copies of programs which air on the network. The same broadcast rights restrictions prevent TSN and its networks and affiliates from emailing or distributing video clips to individuals.
Which of TSN’s feeds is the main one?
- All our feeds are equal. If you don't have a digital receiver but use a participating television service provider, you will receive a primary TSN feed based on where you live in Canada:
- TSN1: Primary feed for British Columbia, Alberta, and Yukon
- TSN3: Primary feed for Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Nunavut, Northwest Territories, and parts of Northern Ontario
- TSN4: Primary feed for Ontario, excluding Ottawa
- TSN5: Primary feed for Ottawa, parts of Southeastern Ontario, Québec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland and Labrador
Why does each province, territory, and certain regions, have a primary feed?
- All five TSN feeds are available nationwide. However, among the feeds, one will be designated as the primary feed for each region to allow for the distribution of regionally relevant content on the primary TSN channel location.
Does my television provider offer TSN1, TSN2, TSN3, TSN4, and TSN5?

Blackouts
Understanding Blackouts
What are Blackouts?
- TSN holds regional broadcast rights for select Winnipeg Jets, Toronto Maple Leafs, Ottawa Senators, and Montreal Canadiens regualr season games. These games are aired within each team’s designated broadcast region, as defined by the NHL. Regional blackouts are enforced to comply with these NHL broadcasting agreements.
Why is the Jets/Leafs/Sens/Habs game blacked out on TSN in my area?
- If you are receiving a blackout message during a Jets/Leafs/Sens/Habs game on TSN, then you live outside the teams’ respective territory, as defined by the NHL.
If you're located within a team's designated broadcast territory and have a direct TSN subscription, but believe a blackout shouldn't apply, please follow the troubleshooting steps below to help resolve the issue.
Regional Blackouts
- These blackouts occur when a game is broadcast in one region but is restricted in another due to NHL regional broadcast rights. You will typically see a "Global blackout" image on the app.
For example: A Toronto resident is eligible to watch Toronto Maple Leafs games when they are in the Toronto broadcast region. However, if that same individual travels to Vancouver, they will be subject to a regional blackout for a Maple Leaf’s game because Vancouver falls outside the designated broadcast region for that specific game.
Global Blackouts
- These blackouts apply to all users and occur when TSN does not possess the rights to broadcast a particular program or event, regardless of location. This will appear on all platforms.
For example: A special event or a game not covered by TSN's broadcast rights will be blacked out for everyone.
Geo-Restrictions (Outside Canada)
- This category primarily addresses situations where a user is attempting to access content from outside of Canada, as TSN's broadcast rights are generally limited to Canada. You may see the message: "Sorry, the video you have selected is not available for viewing this region." This message can sometimes be similar to regional blackout messages, so it's important to consider your physical location.
For example: If you are physically located outside of Canada, you will encounter geo-restrictions.
I am experiencing a blackout incorrectly
- If you believe you are experiencing a blackout incorrectly visit the Blackout Checker Tool. You will need to provide your Postal Code to check eligibility.
If the Blackout Checker indicates you should be able to watch the content, click here to determine your current public IP address. Ensure that your IP address's reported location ("My IP Location") accurately reflects your current physical location and the corresponding postal code.
If not, please follow these troubleshooting steps:
- If you are using a Virtual Private Network (VPN), disable it and try again. VPNs can mask your true location, leading to incorrect blackout enforcement.
- If your "My IP Location" does not match your actual physical location, please contact us here with the following information: your public IP address, your current postal code, the team you're trying to watch and your internet service provider.
- Customers using Satellite Internet providers (e.g., Xplore, Starlink) may experience more frequent blackouts. This is because the IP addresses can change more often, making it difficult to maintain accurate geolocation. We strongly recommend that customers contact their Internet Service Provider directly to explain that you are experiencing issues with geo-restricted content and request that your geolocation records be updated.
- As a workaround, you can often watch games on a mobile devices. Ensure that Location Services on the mobile device are enabled and set to "While Using the App" or "Always" to assist with accurate location detection. Depending on your devices, you may be able to cast the content from your mobile device to a larger screen. Refer to the TSN Supported Devices List for compatibility.
