Calgary Flames
Goaltender Brian Elliott is sick and missed the team's skate on Wednesday morning. Chad Johnson will get the start in net against the Boston Bruins tonight. Elliott has been in net for nine of the Flames' 10 wins during their current streak.
Johnson us 18-13-1 this season with a 2.43 goals against average and a .913 save percentage.
Rookie forward Matthew Tkachuk will be a game-time decision against the Boston Bruins while defenceman Michael Stone is day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
Chicago Blackhawks
The team signed 2014 fifth-round pick Luc Snuggerud. The 21-year-old is leaving the University of Nebraska-Omaha after three years. He scored 11 goals and added 20 assists in 39 games this season. He will report the the AHL's Rockford IceHogs. - Team release.
Toronto Maple Leafs
Veteran forward Tyler Bozak returned to practice for the first time in a week on Wednesday. Despite battling through an injury, the 30-year-old has suited up for the Leafs for the past seven games. - Mark Masters, TSN
Winnipeg Jets
Jacob Trouba (upper-body) and Marko Dano (lower-body) participated in practice Wednesday while Tyler Myers (lower-body), Mark Scheifele (flu) and Shawn Matthias (undisclosed injury) missed practice. Forward Jordan Weal will not play Wednesday against the Pittsburgh Penguins due to a lower-body injury and is listed as day-to-day. Winger Dale Weise, who has been a healthy scratch for the last six games, will replace Weal in the lineup. Backup goalie Anton Khudobin will attempt to stop the red-hot Calgary Flames and their 10-game winning streak Wednesday night in Calgary. An 11th consecutive win would be a franchise record for Calgary. The 30-year-old is 4-5-1 with a 2.76 GAA and a 0.895 save percentage over 11 games this season with Boston. Defenceman Anton Lindholm will make his NHL debut Wednesday night against the Detroit Red Wings. The 22-year-old was selected in the fifth round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
