Ice Chips: Stolarz, Jarnkork on ice prior to Maple Leafs' morning skate

Toronto Maple Leafs
Goaltender Anthony Stolarz and forward Calle Jarnkrok both skated Monday prior to the full team's morning skate as they try to work themselves back from their respective injuries.
Stolarz, 31, hasn't played since Dec. 12 as he works to get himself back in the lineup from a knee injury.
TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger told TSN1050's First Up on Friday that the team is hopeful he'll return before the end of January, but wouldn't be concerned if it ended up being in early February.
Stolarz was phenomenal for the Maple Leafs at the beginning off the season, going 9-5-2 with a .927 save percentage and 2.15 goals-against average.
Jarnkrok hasn't played this season after undergoing groin and sports hernia surgery in November and was given a month-to-month timeline.
"He's a ways away, but he's progressing in the right direction," head coach Craig Berube said after the team's optional skate on Jan.14 . "He's skating a little bit now, which is a good sign. We'll see how it goes here in the next two weeks and then we'd have more of a definitive timeline."
The 6-foot centre is on the third season of a four-year, $8.4 million deal with an annual cap hit of $2.1 million.
Jarnkrok was limited to 52 games last year and recorded 10 goals and 21 points.
Joseph Woll is expected to start in net against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday, which would be a career high 24th start for the season.
Woll, 26, has won his last two games and has a 16-8-0 record this season with a .907 save percentage and 2.68 goals-against average.
Forward Max Pacioretty was missing from Monday's skate as he's dealing with an upper-body injury.
Pacioretty skated 10:19 during the Maple Leafs' 7-3 win over the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday and put up three shots.
Berube told reporters after the skate that the forward is day-to-day and will not play against the Lightning on Monday.
The 36-year-old winger has five goals and 12 points in 32 games this season.

Edmonton Oilers
Defenceman John Klingberg participated in Oilers practice after signing his one-year deal on Saturday.
The 32-year-old skated as the teams extra defenceman as he get acclimated to his new squad.
Klingberg played with the Toronto Maple Leafs last season but was limited to only 14 games after he needed season ending hip surgery.
The 6-foot-2 right-shot defenceman has 81 goals and 412 points in 633 career games split between the Dallas Stars, Anaheim Ducks, Minnesota Wild, and Maple Leafs.
Winnipeg Jets
The Jets used these lines during their morning skate prior to their game against Utah Hockey Club, according to team reporter Mitchell Clinton.
Namestnikov, 32, is expected to return to the lineup against Utah on Monday.
The 6-foot centre missed the team's last four games with a lower-body injury.
Namestnikov has nine goals and 20 points in 43 games this season.
Carolina Hurricanes
The Hurricanes assigned defenceman Ty Smith to the AHL's Chicago Wolves on Monday.
Smith, 24, has a goal and two points in eight games with the Hurricanes this season while averaging 13:40 of ice time.
He also has three goals and 10 points in 13 games with the Wolves this season.
New Jersey Devils
The Devils assigned forward Brian Halonen and defenceman Colton White to the AHL's Utica Comets on Monday.
Halonen appeared in one game for the Devils, a 3-1 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday, where he had a minus-1 rating with 11:35 of ice time.
The 6-foot winger has 13 goals and 21 points in 31 games with the Comets this season.
White, 27, has a goal and 11 points in 26 games in the AHL this season.
San Jose Sharks
The Sharks activated forward Nikolai Kovalenko off of injured reserve on Monday.
Kovalenko, 25, missed the team's last five games while he was dealing with an upper-body injury.
He was acquired from the Colorado Avalanche, along with goaltender Alexandar Georgiev and two draft picks, in exchange for goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood, Givani Smith, and a draft pick on Dec. 9.
The 5-foot-10 winger has five goals and 14 points in 40 games split between the Avalanche and Sharks.
Colorado Avalanche
The Avalanche recalled forward Jere Innala from the AHL's Colorado Eagles on Monday.
Innala, 26, has appeared in 13 games with the Avalanche this season and has a minus-1 rating while averaging 7:12 of ice time.
The 5-foot-9 winger was signed as an undrafted free agent in June.
Tampa Bay Lightning
Jonas Johansson is expected to get the start in net against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday, according to TSN's Mark Masters.
Johansson, 29, has a 5-3-1 reocrd with a .903 save percentage and 3.18 goals-against average this season.
Andrei Vasilevskiy is expected to be between the pipes on Tuesday against the Montreal Canadiens.
Defenceman Erik Cernak did not participate in the team's morning skate on Monday, according to team reporter Gabby Shirley.
Cernak, 27, skated only 34 seconds before leaving the Lightning's 4-3 shootout win over the Anaheim Ducks with an undisclosed injury.
He also missed Saturday's 5-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings and the team hoped he would be ready to begin their four-game road trip beginning with the Maple Leafs on Monday.
The 6-foot-4 right-shot defenceman has 10 assists in 41 games this season while averaging 18:15 of ice time.

The Lightning recalled defenceman Max Crozier from the AHL's Syracuse Crunch on Monday.
Crozier, 24, appeared in Saturday's win over the Lightning where he had a plus-1 rating with two shots and 14:25 of ice time.
The 6-foot-3 right-shot defenceman has three goals and nine points in 22 games with the Crunch this season.
Philadelphia Flyers
The Flyers placed forward Ryan Poehling on injured reserve with an upper-body injury on Monday.
Poehling, 26, only skated 2:02 during the Flyers' 5-3 win over the New York Islanders after taking a hard hit form Islanders forward Maxim Tsyplakov. He also missed the Flyers' 3-1 win over the New Jersey Devils on Saturday.
The 6-foot-2 centre has four goals and 15 points in 43 games this season.
Philadelphia recalled forward Rodrigo Abols from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms in a corresponding move.
Abols, 29, joined the Flyers on a one-year deal in the off-season and has nine goals and 19 points in 34 games in the AHL this season.
Columbus Blue Jackets
The Blue Jackets activated forward Justin Danforth off injured reserve on Monday.
Danforth, 31, missed the team's last 18 games while dealing with a lower-body injury.
The 5-foot-8 winger has three goals and eight points in 25 games this season.
Dallas Stars
The Stars assigned forwards Matej Blumel and Justin Hryckowian to the AHL's Texas Stars on Monday.
Blumel, 24, has a goal in six games in Dallas this season and also has 18 goals and 32 points in 32 games in the AHL.
Hryckowian appeared in five games with the Stars this season, recording an assist. He has 12 goals and 32 points in 32 games with Texas this season.
Boston Bruins
Forward Trent Frederic is expected to miss Monday's game against the San Jose Sharks with an illness, according to Kevin Dupont of the Boston Globe.
Frederic, 26, has seven goals and 14 points in 47 games this season. He is also ranked No. 9 on TSN's Trade Bait Board.
Forward Oliver Wahlstrom will take Frederic's spot in the lineup.
The 24-year-old winger has a goal in 10 games since he was claimed off waivers from the New York Islanders.
Florida Panthers
The Panthers are hopeful that defenceman Aaron Ekblad can return to the lineup during their four-game western road trip beginning with the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday, according to head coach Paul Maurice.
Ekblad, 28, missed the last five games with an upper-body injury and the team hasn't ruled out a return on Tuesday.
The 6-foot-4 defenceman has two goals and 20 points in 41 games this season while averaging 23:32 of ice time.
Utah Hockey Club
Defenceman Mikhail Sergachev did not participated in the team's morning skate on Monday prior to their game against the Winnipeg Jets, according to Brogan Houston of Deseret News Sports.
Sergachev, 26, was a late scratch for Saturday's 4-2 win over the St. Louis Blues with the injury.
The 6-foot-3 left-shot defenceman has eight goals and 30 points in 44 games this season while averaging 25:45 of ice time.
Connor Ingram is expected to get the start in net against the Jets, according to Cole Bagley of KSL Sports.
Ingram recently came back after missing 23 games for personal reasons.
The 6-foot-1 netminder has a 7-5-3 record with a 3.38 goals-against average and .879 save percentage this season.
Los Angeles Kings
Defenceman Drew Doughty and forward Alex Laferriere both participated in the team's morning skate in non-contact jerseys.
Doughty, 35, hasn't played all season after suffering a fractured ankle in the preseason, leading him to require surgery.
The 6-foot-1 right-shot defenceman had 15 goals and 50 points in 82 games last season while averaging 25:48 of ice time.
Laferriere, 23, missed the team's last two games with an upper-body injury.
The 6-foot-1 winger has 13 goals and 26 points in 41 games this season.
