Ice Chips: Oshie resumes skating with Capitals

Washington Capitals
Forward T.J. Oshie practiced with the Capitals on Friday after missing on-ice and fitness testing on Thursday, according to Samantha Pell of the Washington Post.
Oshie had underwent a core procedure in the offseason and was held back from testing due out of an abundance of caution.
The 35-year-old had 11 goals and 25 points in 44 games last season.

Ottawa Senators
The Senators have released forwards Reid Valade, Dalyn Wakely, and defenceman Chandler Romeo from their training camp and have been assigned to their Ontario Hockey League clubs on Friday.
Valade played for the Kitchener Rangers last season where he had 30 goals and 55 points in 63 games.
Wakely played for the North Bay Battalion last season where he scored 20 goals and 34 points in 67 games.
Romeo was drafted 202nd in the 2021 NHL Draft by the Senators and had two goals and 18 points in 67 games with the Sarnia Sting last season.
The Senators signed defenceman Jorian Donovan to a three-year entry level contract on Friday.
Donovan was selected 136th overall by the Senators in the 2022 NHL Draft in June.
The Richmond Hill native played last season with the Ontario Hockey League's Hamilton Bulldogs where he scored three goals and 22 points in 64 games.
Winnipeg Jets
Forward Brad Lambert had a maintenance day on Friday and did not practice with the team, according to head coach Rick Bowness.
Lambert, 18, was drafted 30th overall by the Jets in the 2022 NHL Draft in June.
Detroit Red Wings
Forward Tyler Bertuzzi was not available for practice on Friday, according to team reporter Daniella Bruce.
Bertuzzi's injury was undisclosed and is considered to be day-to-day.
The 27-year-old winger had 30 goals and 62 points in 68 games last season.
Boston Bruins
The Bruins are on the road to signing defenceman Anton Stralman to a professional tryout contract, according to TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun.
Stralman played last season with the Arizona Coyotes where he registered eight goals and 23 points in 74 games.
The 36-year-old has 63 goals and 293 points in 930 career games split between the Toronto Maple Leafs. Columbus Blue Jackets, New York Rangers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Florida Panthers, and Coyotes
Columbus Blue Jackets
Forward Cole Sillinger did not practice on Friday and is out day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
The 19-year-old forward registered 16 goals and 31 points in 79 games in his rookie season last year.
Forward Boone Jenner was held out of intrasquad scrimmages on Friday due to a back injury, according to The Athletic's Aaron Portzline.
Jenner, 29, had 23 goals and 44 points in 59 games last season.
Goaltender Joonas Korpisalo has not been cleared to play in games after having hip surgery in March and there is no timetable for his return, according to Portzline.
The 28-year-old had a 7-11-0 record with a .877 save percentage and 4.15 goals-against average last season

New York Islanders
Goaltender Semyon Varlamov did not practice with the Islanders on Friday due to personal reasons, according to head coach Lane Lambert.
Varlamov, 34, had a 10-17-2 record last season with a .911 save percentage and 2.91 goals-against average.
Florida Panthers
Forwards Justin Sourdif and Zac Dalpe did not practice with the Panthers and are considered day-to-day, according to head coach Paul Maurice.
Sourdif, 20, was drafted 87th overall by the Panthers in the 2020 NHL draft and had 26 goals and 71 points in 52 games in the WHL split between the Vancouver Giants and Edmonton Oil Kings.
Dalpe, 32, appeared in only one game for the Panthers last season and had 30 goals and 29 points in 68 games with the AHL's Charlotte Checkers.
Additionally, Anthony Duclair is not close to returning to action after suffering an Achilles tendon injury during the off-season.
The 27-year-old had a bounce back season in 2021-22 where he scored 31 goals and 58 points in 74 games.
