Ice Chips: Robertson set to return to Leafs' lineup vs. Oilers

Toronto Maple Leafs

Forward Nick Robertson did not stay out late at Saturday's optional skate and will return to the lineup in place of Alex Steeves.

Robertson was scratched for the team's win against the Washington Capitals on Wednesday. The 23-year-old has one goal in 15 games this season.

The Maple Leafs have assigned defenceman Philippe Myers to the AHL's Toronto Marlies on a conditioning loan, the team announced on Saturday.

The 27-year-old has played one game in the NHL this season, failing to record a point on Oct. 26 against the Boston Bruins

Myers signed a one-year, $775K contract with the club this past offseason.

The Moncton, N.B. native has recorded eight goals and 28 assists in 159 NHL games with the Leafs, Philadelphia Flyers, Nashville Predators, and Tampa Bay Lightning

Forward Max Domi was on the ice at Leafs' optional skate on Saturday morning after missing Friday's practice due to maintenance. Head coach Craig Berube confirmed that he will be in the lineup for tonight's game.

The 29-year-old has six assists in 18 games this season, his second with Toronto. 

Anthony Stolarz will likely start tonight's game.


Winnipeg Jets

The Jets participated in an optional skate Saturday morning ahead of their game against the Florida Panthers.

Eric Comrie was the only goaltender on the ice, while the following players took part:

Barron, Fleury, Gustafsson, Heinola, Scheifele, Perfetti, Iafallo, Pionk, Coghlan, Kupari, and Appleton.


Edmonton Oilers

Head coach Kris Knoblauch says forward Viktor Arvidsson is not yet ready to return from an undisclosed injury.

The team will continue playing with 11 forwards and seven defencemen.

The Oilers practiced with the following lines ahead of tonight's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Montreal Canadiens

Defenceman Justin Barron will return to the lineup Saturday night against the Columbus Blue Jackets. He will replace Jayden Struble in the lineup.

Forward Brendan Gallagher did not practice Saturday morning but will be in the lineup tonight on a line with Josh Anderson and Christian Dvorak. Rafael Harvey-Pinard skated in place of Gallagher at practice as he continues to rehab from offseason surgery for a broken leg.

Michael Pezzetta is not expected to be in tonight's lineup.


Calgary Flames

Forward Adam Klapka has been assigned to the American Hockey League. 

The 24-year-old has not recorded a point in five games with the Flames this season. 


St. Louis Blues

Defenceman Corey Schueneman will likely make his Blues' debut Saturday against the Boston Bruins after being recalled from the AHL's Springfield Thunderbirds on Friday. 

The 29-year-old has two goals, and five assists in 31 NHL games between 2021-23, all with the Montreal Canadiens.


Florida Panthers

Head coach Paul Maurice confirmed that Sergei Bobrovsky will be in net tonight against the league-leading Winnipeg Jets.


Buffalo Sabres

Jordan Greenway will not be in the Sabres lineup tonight against the Philadelphia Flyers, per head coach Lindy Ruff. Jiri Kulich will take his place.

Goaltender Devon Levi will get the start.


Carolina Hurricanes

Head coach Rod Brind'Amour says goalie Pyotr Kochetkov (unspecified injury) will be an available option tomorrow when the Hurricanes host the Blues.

"We probably could've stuck him in there tonight, but we'll probably wait," Brind'Amour told reporters.


Boston Bruins

Bruins coach Jim Montgomery announced the following lineup changes for Saturday's game: Georgii Merkulov and Riley Tufte are in while Johnny Beecher and Patrick Brown are out.

Forward Tyler Johnson (personal reasons) will return to practice tomorrow.
