Lacrosse legend Tavares to retire Wednesday
John Tavares, arguably the greatest lacrosse athlete of all-time, will retire from the sport on Wednesday. "Canadian lacrosse legend John Tavares, who is the Wayne Gretzky and Gordie Howe of lacrosse all rolled up into one, is indeed retiring Wed," tweeted TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie on Tuesday.

John Tavares, arguably the greatest lacrosse athlete of all-time, will retire from the sport on Wednesday.
Tavares is the uncle of New York Islanders All-Star John Tavares.
The 46-year-old native of Toronto played his entire 24-year career with the Buffalo Bandits of the National Lacrosse League.
Tavares is the NLL's all-time leading scorer, netting 815 goals and 934 assists for 1749 points over 306 career regular season games.
