Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander has been named the NHL's rookie of the month for March after setting a franchise rookie record with a 12-game point streak.

Nylander, 20, saw his point streak come to an end in Thursday's win over the Nashville Predators. He led all rookies with 14 points (in 14 games) in the month of March.

Nylander was also named the league's rookie of the month in October. He owns 21 goals and 58 points in 75 games this season.

Nylander is tied with Mitch Marner for third in points among NHL rookies this season, behind teammate Auston Matthews and Winnipeg Jets forward Patrik Laine.
