Murray to reveal college decision on TSN
When Canadian basketball phenom Andrew Wiggins made his much-anticipated decision to join the Kansas Jayhawks, he did it at a private signing ceremony attended by a single local newspaper reporter in a high school gymnasium in West Virginia. This country’s next hoops hope has a more public declaration planned: Jamal Murray will announce his college decision in front of the nation, live during the 6 p.m. ET edition of SportsCentre.

Murray, a native of Kitchener, ON, is a 6-foot-5 combo guard who completed high school at the Athlete Institute in Orangeville, ON, and played on the AAU circuit with CIA Bounce – the same program that counts Canadian NBA talent such as Tyler Ennis, Tristan Thompson, Anthony Bennett and Wiggins as alumni.
A number of powerhouse programs have shown plenty of interest in Murray, who was the MVP of the 2015 Nike Hoop Summit and the BioSteel All Canadian Basketball Game. He also represented Canada internationally in the 2014 FIBA U17 world championship.
Scouting reports laud Murray’s explosive scoring ability, noting he’s lethal from long range and creative enough to make shots anywhere on the court. He’s also shown he’s comfortable handling the ball, making a future full-time switch to point guard a possibility.
TSN basketball analyst Leo Rautins has described him as Jason Kidd with a better jump shot.
Draftexpress.com, a site that projects future NBA drafts, predicts Murray will be selected in the first round in 2016 after playing one season in the NCAA.
Murray will be joined at the announcement by his father, Roger, mother, Sylvia, and brother, Lamar. He will make his decision live at 6:15 on SportsCentre and TSN.ca, followed by live coverage of the post-announcement on TSN.ca and TSN GO.
