A new feature-length documentary about high school basketball’s biggest stage, the McDonald’s All-American Games, is being produced.

The doc is being co-directed by Clarence “Coodie” Simmons and Chike Ozah, known for their work behind the recent jeen-yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy documentary.

The film, titled The All Americans: The Games That Changed The Game, is being produced by Simmons and Ozah’s production company, Creative Control, in partnership with Roc Nation and Known Studios. Production has already begun and will include coverage from next week’s 2022 Games in Chicago.

Launched in 1977, the annual game showcases 48 of the top boys and girls high school basketball players as they go head-to-head. NBA stars including Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Isiah Thomas, Grant Hill, Shaquille O’Neal, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and more first shined at the McDonald’s All-American Games before rising to college and NBA fame.

“For 45 years, McDonald’s All-American Game has provided extraordinary young men and women an opportunity to play on a national stage, while also enforcing the importance of giving back,” said Lori York, executive VP of TV and film at Roc Nation, in a statement. “The McDonald’s All-Americans are not just leading scorers in the NBA and WNBA, they are also dedicated philanthropists.”

Roc Nation will supervise the music for the documentary and executive produce alongside Ross Martin, Mark Feldstein and Brad Roth of Known Studios.
