The Vegas Golden Knights signed captain Mark Stone to a two-year contract extension worth $18 million, the team announced Saturday.
The deal carries a $9 million AAV, and runs through the end of the 2028-29 season.
The 34-year-old Stone has appeared in 400 regular-season games for the Golden Knights since being acquired from the Ottawa Senators in a trade during the 2019 season.
His 396 points (136 goals, 260 assists) and +112 rating both rank first among all Golden Knights players since he joined the team. Stone also leads his team in goals (37) and points (118) on the power play, as well as game-winning goals (27) and takeaways (401) since he arrived in Vegas. Stone’s 401 takeaways since starting with the club place him first among all NHL skaters in takeaways per game (1.00).
The winger scored 28 goals and finished with 73 points in 60 games last season, tying his career high in points. He tied a franchise mark when he scored a goal in seven consecutive games during this past season.
In the Stanley Cup Playoffs, Stone has appeared in 102 games with Vegas and is the franchise’s all-time leader in postseason goals (43) and points (84). The forward helped the Golden Knights to their first Stanley Cup title in 2023 when he scored 11 goals and finished with 24 points in 22 games. Stone recorded a hat trick as part of the 9-3 win in Game 5 against the Florida Panthers, becoming the third player to do so in a Stanley Cup-clinching victory, and the first since 1922.
Over his 14-year career split with the Senators and Golden Knights, Stone has 259 goals and 707 points in 766 games played.
