Dallas Stars forward Matt Duchene is set to miss approximately three months after undergoing surgery to repair a core injury, the team announced Monday.

The 35-year-old has not played this season after the Stars placed him on injured reserve before opening night with a lower-body injury.

In 57 games last season, the veteran registered 16 goals and 29 assists for 45 points. He added two goals and seven assists in six playoff games.

Since joining Dallas ahead of the 2023-24 season, Duchene has recorded 71 goals and 121 assists for 192 points across 219 games.

Dallas and Duchene agreed to a four-year, $18-million contract extension before the beginning of last season.
