Ottawa Senators
The Senators have assigned defenceman Nikita Zaitsev to AHL Belleville.
He was waived on Nov. 9 and cleared the next day but remained with the team as a healthy scratch.
Zaitsev has one assist in seven games this season and is signed through next season at a cap hit of $4.5 million.
Acquired from the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2019, the 31-year-old is in his fourth season with the Senators. He has 19 goals and 104 points in 405 career games.
Montreal Canadiens
The Canadiens have loaned forward Rem Pitlick to the AHL's Laval Rocket and sent prospect Emil Heineman to Leksand of the Swedish Hockey League.
Pitlick was called by the Habs on Tuesday after he was waived by the team on Nov. 7. He was not in the lineup Thursday night against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
He has zero points in seven games so far this season with the Canadiens and three assists in three games with Laval.
Heineman, 21, injured his wrist during the preseason and has yet to suit up this season. He could not be officially loaned to Sweden until he was activated from the season-opening injured reserve.
A 2020 second-round pick by the Florida Panthers, the Canadiens acquired Heineman from the Flames as part of the deal that sent Tyler Toffoli to Calgary.
Forwards Evgenii Dadonov, Jake Evans and Juraj Slafkovsky are not taking part in today's practice (maintenance days).
Detroit Red Wings
The Red Wings have assigned forward Austin Czarnik to the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins.
The 29-year-old has one goal in four games with Detroit this season. In the AHL, he has five goals and 10 points in eight games.
Signing as a free agent with the Red Wings on July 13, Czarnik has had NHL stints with the Boston Bruins, Calgary Flames, New York Islanders, Seattle Kraken and Red Wings.
