Ice Chips: Habs' Harvey-Pinard, Oilers' Klingberg set for season debuts

Montreal Canadiens
Forward Rafael Harvey-Pinard will make his season debut tonight against the Minnesota Wild and Michael Pezzetta will be a healthy scratch.
Harvey-Pinard underwent surgery in July after suffering a broken leg. He returned to play in November and was assigned to the AHL's Laval Rocket after clearing waivers.
In 24 games with Laval this season, the 26-year-old had four goals and 11 points.
A seventh-round pick (201st overall) by Montreal in 2019, Harvey-Pinard has skated in 83 career NHL games, scoring 17 goals with 31 points.
Edmonton Oilers
Veteran defenceman John Klingberg will make his season debut for the Oilers on Thursday night against the Detroit Red Wings.
Klingberg signed with the Oilers earlier this month on a prorated one-year, $1 million contract.
Along with Klingberg, Jeff Skinner will come back into the lineup, replacing Kasperi Kapanen.
Klingberg, 32, spent last season with the Toronto Maple Leafs but has not played in an NHL game since Nov. 11, 2023. He had five assists and was a minus-7 in 14 games with the team before undergoing season-ending surgery on his hip. Dreger reported before he joined the Oilers Klingerg had interest from five to seven teams, including the Maple Leafs and the Ottawa Senators.
Drafted 131st overall by the Dallas Stars in the 2010 draft, Klingberg has 81 goals and 412 points in 633 career games split between the Stars, Anaheim Ducks, Minnesota Wild, and Maple Leafs.

Rookie goaltender Dustin Wolf gets the start tonight against the Anaheim Ducks
In 28 appearances this season, the 23-year-old is 18-8-2 with a .915 save percentage and 2.56 GAA.
Per TSN's Salim Valji, head coach Ryan Huska said forward Connor Zary will be back skating in a very limited capacity next week but still no timeline to return.
Zary was injured on Jan. 7 and has not played since. In 40 games this season, he has 10 goals and 22 points.

Goaltender Linus Ullmark was a full participant at this morning's skate and taking first team repetitions as he continues to work his way back from a back injury but will not dress tonight.
Anton Forsberg will get the start tonight against the Washington Capitals while Leevi Merilainen will be the backup.
Prior to the injury, Ullmark was on a seven-game winning streak but has not played since Dec. 22 against the Edmonton Oilers. The 31-year-old is 12-7-2 in 23 appearances with a .915 save percentage and 2.38 goals-against average, his first with the Senators.

Seattle Kraken
The Kraken have recalled defenceman Cale Fleury and goaltender Ales Stezka from the AHL's Coachella Valley Firebirds.
Stezka, 28, is in his second season with the organization. In 24 appearances with Coachella Valley this season, he has a .902 save percentage and 3.00 GAA.
Kraken goaltender Philipp Grubauer was waived by Seattle on Wednesday and will go to Coachella Valley if he clears waivers.
Fleury has six goals and 16 points in 28 AHL games this season. He has appeared in two games for the Kraken this season.
Boston Bruins
Goaltender Joonas Korpisalo is the starter tonight against the Winnipeg Jets with defencemen Charlie McAvoy and Brandon Carlo also in the lineup.
Korpisalo has appeared in 17 games with Boston this season, going 9-4-2 with an .899 save percentage and 2.70 GAA, his first with the Bruins.
McAvoy returns after missing the last seven games with an upper-body injury. He last played on Jan. 11 in a 4-3 win over the Florida Panthers. The 26-year-old has five goals and 20 points in 45 games this season.
Tampa Bay Lightning
Goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy (illness) is a game-time decision for tonight's contest against the Los Angeles Kings.
Vasilevskiy is 20-15-2 with a .915 save percentage and 2.34 GAA in 37 appearances this season.
Carolina Hurricanes
Head coach Rod Brind'Amour says forward Sebastian Aho's status for tonight's game against the Chicago Blackhawks is TBD.
Brind'Amour says Aho didn't feel well when he got to the rink this morning and went back home.
Earlier this morning, Aho was named one of Finland's associate captains for the upcoming 4 Nations Face-Off along with Mikko Rantanen and Mikael Granlund while Aleksander Barkov gets the 'C'.
Aho has 17 goals and 51 points in 51 games this season.
