Canadiens place D Xhekaj on injured reserve

The Montreal Canadiens have placed defenceman Arber Xhekaj on the injured reserve with an upper-body injury and he will meet with a specialist in the coming days.
The Hamilton, Ont., native played just over 10 minutes on Sunday against the Edmonton Oilers, leaving in the second period following a fight with Oilers defenceman Vincent Desharnais.
The 22-year-old has five goals and eight assists in 51 games this season and leads the Canadiens with 101 penalty minutes.
Defenceman Corey Schueneman was recalled ahead of Saturday's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
