Ice Chips: Suzuki to make preseason debut Tuesday

Montreal Canadiens
Montreal Canadiens head coach Martin St. Louis announced that captain Nick Suzuki will make his preseason debut at centre against the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday night after recovering from a lower-body injury.
St. Louis previously said that Suzuki suffered his injury preparing for training camp.
The 23-year-old from London, Ont. signed an eight-year, $63 million extension last October, tallied 21 goals and 40 helpers in 82 games last season.
Winnipeg Jets
Winnipeg Jets head coach Rick Bowness told reporters that rookie forward Brad Lambert’s potential spot on opening night has yet to be determined
Bowness added that Lambert's speed is NHL level but his unknown factors will be elevating to regular season intensity and quickness of decision-making.
The 18-year-old from Lahti, Finland, was selected by the Jets with the 30th overall selection in the 2022 NHL Draft. Lambert missed the first week of training camp with the Jets but scored his first goal in a Jets' uniform in his first preseason game against the Montreal Canadiens on September 29th.
Toronto Maple Leafs
Ahead of their preseason tilt with the Canadiens on Monday night, TSN's Mark Masters shared the Toronto Maple Leafs' line combinations, with Matt Murray occupying the starter's net during the team's morning skate.
Edmonton Oilers
Edmonton Oilers goaltender Jack Campbell will start tonight against the Vancouver Canucks, Oilers head coach Jay Woodcroft announced.
The 30-year-old made his preseason debut for the Oilers on September 30th against the Calgary Flames, where he he turned away seven of eight shots in the Oilers' 2-1 win. Campbell recently signed a five-year, $25 million contract the Oilers in the off-season after spending the last three seasons with the Maple Leafs (2019-21).
Colorado Avalanche
Colorado Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon was reportedly absent from practice today.
The 27-year-old MacKinnon was reported to have taken a puck off of the face during Sunday's practice.
The former first-overall pick in 2013 and native of Halifax, N.S., MacKinnon recorded 32 goals and 88 regular-season points with the Avalanche. He tallied an additional 24 points in the playoffs to help lead the Avalanche to their first Stanley Cup since 2001.
Calgary Flames
The Calgary Flames have claimed forward Radim Zohorna off of waivers from the Pittsbugh Penguins, the Flames announced Monday.
Zohorna, 26, skated in 17 games for the Penguins last season, recording a pair of goals and four assists for six points.
A native of Havlickuv, Czechia, Zohorna was signed by the Penguins as a free agent in 2020 and skated in 25 games across two seasons (2020-21) for the Penguins, recording a total of four goals and 10 points.
Minnesota Wild
The Minnesota Wild have assigned D Daemon Hunt, D Simon Johansson, F Sammy Walker and G Jesper Wallstedt to their AHL affiliate Iowa Wild, the club announced Monday.
In addition, the team placed F Joseph Cramarossa and D Joe Hicketts on waivers for the purpose of assignment to Iowa.
