It appears gritty forward Patrick Maroon will rejoin captain Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl on the top line for Game 1 of their Western Conference second-round series against the Anaheim Ducks.
Maroon, 29, played on the third line in favour of rookie Drake Caggiula in Games 5 and 6 of the San Jose Sharks series, but was back practicing with the top liners on Monday which is a good sign he'll return to McDavid's wing Wednesday night against his former team.
The St. Louis native scored a career-high 27 goals and 15 assists over 81 games in 2016-17, his second season with Oilers. Maroon spent the first five years of his career with the Ducks before the Oilers acquired him in February of last year.
Defenceman Oscar Klefbom, who had a career year with 12 goals and 38 points, missed the third period of Game 6 against the Sharks because of the flu, but head coach Todd McLellan said he'll be ready to play Game 1. The 23-year-old was absent from practice on Monday.
