Hockey Canada listened to five groups make a pitch to host the 2019 World Junior Hockey Championship on Tuesday and Wednesday in Calgary.
The news comes from TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger.
Ottawa made a solo bid. It's believed former Senators Wade Redden and Chris Phillips played a role in Ottawa's presentation.
Edmonton/Calgary, Winnipeg/Saskatoon, Vancouver/Victoria and London/Windsor also applied to co-host the 2019 Championship.
The World Juniors are hosted by Canada every other year. Toronto and Montreal co-hosted in 2015 and will do so again this December.
