,Immortals have secured at least one of their starters from 2016 by signing Eugene “Pobelter” Park to a two-year contract.
Pobelter is the only member of the North American League Championship Series to stay with the club after top laner Heo "Huni" Seung-hoon signed with SK Telecom T1, support Adrian "Adrian" Ma joined Phoenix1, jungler Kim "Reignover" Yeu-jin is expected to join Team Liquid, and AD carry Jason "WildTurtle" Tran announced his departure on Monday.
"We’re thrilled to bring Pobelter back to the Immortals League of Legends team for the next two years," Immortals CEO Noah Whinston stated in a release. "Throughout 2016, Eugene was the bedrock of our roster and we look forward to achieving great things together with him."
Pobelter and Immortals went 33-3 during the regular seasons of the 2016 spring and summer splits, but finished a disappointing third in both playoffs and failed to advance to the League of Legends World Championship.
"Last year was one of my most enjoyable years as a pro gamer so far playing in LCS," Pobelter said in the release. "So I figured, why not come back and have more good times on Immortals?"
